Grocery Book: Mary Poppins Returns-The Magic of Mary Poppins

After many years of Mary Poppins' first adventures with the Banks' children, she returns to help the Banks children once again. This time around the Banks children are Michael Banks children. Based on the Original book "Mary Poppins Returns" by P.L. Travers and the 2018 Film.

I give this book three out of five stars or in the spirit of "Mary Poppins", three spoonfuls of sugar out of five spoonfuls of sugar. As a fan of the movie, I enjoyed looking at the pictures taken from the movie. As a story, the book did not have a high-quality plot line and the structure of the book was lacking. The book was more of a very quick summary of the movie, that lacked on many details. Children would find the book engaging if they enjoyed the movies and had seen the newest movie. Children would also find the colorful pictures fun to look at, for a little while. I would not recommend this book as a serious read, but perhaps for a quick source of entertainment.

  1. I agree that children would find the book engaging if they saw the movie. The biggest appeal to grocery store books I think are that they are based off of a movie or tv show. Kids may not even read the text but just look at the pictures from the movie that they enjoyed.
